On Your Way To Attaining A Professional Golf Swing
July 13, 2008
We have learned by imitation since the day we were born, so why stop now? Watch the PGA and the LPGA and tape them on your recorder (especially the swing) and try to mimic what they are doing. They are the experts in their field of what they do. They are the ones with the professional golf swing.
Don’t watch struggling players at your local club house, they are having just as many problems as you are, if not more.
The pros practice and so should you, religiously. Practice on the driving range, in your living room, or even in your backyard. You don’t have to leave home; there is plenty of quality aid to help you get that professional golf swing you are looking for. Don’t wear sunglasses because believe it or not they will distort your depth perception.
You don’t see the pros wearing them.
Video tape your swing and then analyze your swing and see where your mistakes are. If necessary, have it professionally done in a golf pro shop. They will tape you, analyze it and give you professional feedback for a few meager dollars. Most of your local golf clubs have teachers for hire that will work on your specific problem and help you get that professional new golf swing you are wanting.
The Big Four
There are four stages of learning levels in golf, which are:
Unconsciously incompetent: You haven’t got a clue what your problem is and therefore you are clueless on how to fix them.
Consciously incompetent: You see what a lot of your problems are but you don’t know how to get to the roots and fix them.
Consciously competent: You know what the problems are and you know how to fix them and you also know it will take some practice and time.
Unconsciously competent: You play well without even thinking about what you are doing. This is the level that you will attain that professional golf swing. This is the level that all of us want to play on.
Six Basics to the Golf Swing
Basically there are six things that you need to know to get the professional golf swing you have been searching for and they are:
Grip
Posture
Pivot
Coordination
Body alignment
Mentality
Golf is Fun
Don’t learn to hate the golf short game, remember you are just starting out; you’re not going to have a professional golf swing right away unless you are some sort of golf phenomenon. In other words when you’re out there on the course and you find yourself in the sand trap, take a swing and try to get it out. Do not let your frustrations get the better of your.
Remember you started to play golf because it looked fun.
