What is the difference between basketball shoes and normal shoes?

October 9, 2008

I am about to join my school’s basketball team and I am not sure whether to buy new basketball shoes or just wear normal shoes so I need to know the difference. Care to help me out? Pleasee?

Sometimes, basketball shoes are modified to weigh less, grip better, and feel comfortable.

Normal shoes will not do you any good.

The weight and grip is no good.

You WON’T be playing your best without exceptional gear.

what do you consider normal shoes?

basketball shoes are made for basketball, lol.
    the running, dribbling, jumps, etc.

You can wear normal athletic shoes but it would be better to get basketball shoes, they have higher tops and you would be less likely to be injured because they will support your ankles.

basketball shoes go through a shamanistic ceremony before they are shipped out to the stores. during said ceremony witchdoctors trip peyote and pray for the wearer of the shoe to “flima lika meeka”, or fly like mike.
this has been going on for many years and is taken quite serious in some circles.
be careful with these magic shoes.

You need basketball shoes, because they are made to help with jumping, shooting, etc. and i’m sure the coach would appreciate it.
