What is the baseball players chewing on?

Almost all of the baseball players are spitting out seeds.
Is there a special food that they chew on?

It’s mostly either sunflower seeds or chewing gum. Some of the players can break the rules of baseball and use chewing tobacco also though.

    Sunflower Seeds are very popular in MLB Dugouts.

    Sunflower seeds for the seed shells, and a lot of players chew gum as well.
