Is it possible to play American Football wearing glasses ?

January 9, 2009

Hi everybody !

Can I play American Football wearing glasses ? I have to wear them all the time, so I wonder if there's any device that you put on glasses and stuff before you put the helmet on.

Any idea ?
Mike: What is a visor ?
Are you sure my glasses won't break ?
Is it preferable to play with goggles ? Where can get them?

yes you can

it depends on what position you play

helmets are fairly tight so they wont fly off or anything, you can always get a band/string (thingy) to go around the back of your head to connect the ear pieces, but i always hated those. you dont want contacts because they will probably go flying off, and it will be gone for good

but i strongly suggest getting a visor, i have a clear one but thats because of league rules.

talk to your coach about it, my coach told me this and it helped out a lot

PS it may sound silly but get used to putting your helmet on with them, my glasses made life difficult at first, so much so that i wouldnt take my helmet off because of the fear of not getting it back on, but you will get used to it

It's possible, but not recommended. Try getting contacts. I imagine it's really uncomfortable playing with glasses, always reaching in ur helmet to push them up or something. And if they get fogged up ur fucked.

Eric Dickerson wore goggles for his vision instead of contacts.
