How can i become fitter for the athletics season?

I am a sprinter and i am in secondary school and would really like some exercise that I can do and stuff like that.
just run like for 20min and do some sprints and stuff if you wanted to get really good go get a tire and a rope and tie the rope to the tire and then tie the rope to you and run with it for a 100
