Getting Ahead In Your Favourite Rpgs

September 14, 2008

Power leveling has always been a key component of games. Even the earliest pen and paper versions always had players eagerly figuring out how to get to the next level. Get that next awesome stat, that next critical weapon in order to make more critical hits.

Now with MMO’s having established themselves as a key feature of every keen gamers life, power leveling is an essential skill all gamers need.

In a nutshell, power leveling refers to any set of strategies used to rapidly and continuously level your character up. However different sets of strategies are needed in experience points, so there is a lot of difference in power leveling techniques.

Also whether the game is single or multi player should be considered. For single player games, simply do every single quest that you can. This will get you to the maximum level possible in that game, especially if you go off and comb through all of the various maps to explore.

Multiplayer RPGs are a different lot though. Often, there is a strict level cap and an excess of content to be played. Where single player RPGs might take thirty or more hours to fully complete, MMOs can take in excess of hundreds of hours just to level up once. And once you level up, there is still a ton of other stuff to complete.

Therefore, you can get a high level friend to help your character out. By letting him do most of the work, you can save yourself from doing just about anything until you’re a very high level, and you will level up very quickly.

Unfortunately there just isn’t room here to get into the nitty-gritty. What you should really be doing is getting a good guide for the game you are currently most into. Think of it like this – people are happy to spend a few hundred dollars on equipment for their favourite sport, so why not spend a few dollars in getting more performance and enjoyment by being an expert at power leveling your favourite game?

World Of Warcraft Enchanting Guide

July 12, 2008

If you have not chosen your profession in the World of Warcraft and you are finding it hard to choose the right one for you, I suggest you try out Enchanting.

Enchanting is one of the most respected career in the World of Warcraft because of its wizard nature. The profession where you have the abilities to cast spells, enchantments and disenchantments. If you are into pure magical stuffs, then this one is definitely for you.

However, most players usually find it hard to level-up that fast because you need to be more knowledgeable of your profession if you are an Enchant than when you are into another profession. This career has lots of mechanics and recipes to learn but don’t worry too much as you will specialize on them in no time if you really want to.

I’ve managed to collect some of the basic guides that you may need as you go on Enchanting.

A. The first thing you will need to cast enchantments is the enchanting bracelet. It is worn on the wrist to deflect objects. You will need strange dust and lesser magic essence for this recipe. After this, you will be able to continue enchanting to level-up your skills.

B. For a quick level-up guide, just follow these directions:

a. Level 1-50 – Make a runed copper rod using your by enchanting and using recipe on your spellbook.
b. Level 50-70 – Disenchant all green items you will find
c. Level 70-100 – Make a silver copper rod using a silver rod, 6 strangedust, 1 shadowgerm and 3 greater magic essence.
d. Level 100-150 – Make a runed gold copper rod using a gold rod from the blacksmith and use 2 soul dust, 2 greater astral essence and 1 iridescent pearl.
e. Level 150-300 – Make a runed arcanite rod using 1 arcanite rod, 1 golden pearl, 10 illusion dust, 4 small brilliant shards and 2 large brilliant shards.

C. For your enchanting recipes, you will need the following:

Dust – Green Armor
Essence – Green Weapons
Shard – Blue Items
Nexus Crystal – Purple Items (up to 60)
Void Crystals – Purple Items (after level 60)

D. To trade your items effectively, try to find the right market for your crafts:

1. Characters who are in still low game levels and who are restricted by the game in improving their armaments.
2. Characters who are fond of weapon glows. You may invest more on formulas to create various colors. These are profitable enchants even to high level players.
3. Characters who require high-end enchants. These spells can’t be trained until you are in a high-level so may also invest on the formula to gain them.
4. Try to study the products which are profitable on your current servers. You can may create various oils and leathers. There are some servers where they are lucrative, while there are some where these items are not so much of use.

After you follow this easy guide, you will find yourself totally engrossed in your Enchanting career. If you want a more detailed guide to help you more on leveling your skills, make sure you read on WoW Enchanting Guide Review. It will be worth your time, I assure you.

Eye Of The North, An Expansion For Guild Wars Nightfall

May 24, 2008

Massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPG) are a new type of computer game which are proving very successful around the globe. Client software is installed on your computer, and this lets you login to the game’s servers. Joining thousands – even millions – of other gamers online, you are no longer limited to just working through a storyline by yourself. Usually games like Lord of the Rings have a regular subscription fee, on top of the upfront cost required to purchase the game software.

Guild Wars from ArenaNet does away with these subscription fees. Once you have bought the software, installed it, and created an account to log in to the game, everything is free. This gives gamers the freedom to play Guild Wars as little or as often as they want. The lack of a subscription fee is a big advantage. Copies of the software can be picked up very cheaply via online retailers, making Guild Wars an inexpensive and fun introduction to the world of MMORPGs, fuelling a thriving demand for Guild Wars guides.

Eye of the North is the first expansion to the three Guild Wars campaigns – Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. Designed both for experienced Guild Wars players, and as a bridge to Guild Wars 2, Eye of the North introduces two new NPC races – the Asura and the Norn.

The Asura and the Norn each have a relevant new Title Track. You will need to advance on these to gain access to Asura and Norn NPCs in Eye of the North, unlocking access to new Guild Wars builds.

Eye of the North takes place 8 years after “The Searing” happens in the Prophecies. A series of earthquakes shake all 3 of Guild Wars’ continents where each of the stand alone Guild Wars campaigns takes place. Strange beasts rise from the abysses created by the earthquake, thus starting your character’s journey to the Eye of the North.

Compared to previous titles like Guild Wars Prophecies, more depth has been added to Eye of the North with the introduction of dungeons. Even the Eye of the North maps have been upgraded to accommodate the new dungeon features. Each time you complete a dungeon you will be rewarded with a new completed page in your dungeon logbook. You can then exchange completed dungeon logs to one of the Title Track factions for massive amounts of experience points.

Eye of the North is Guild Wars’ first true expansion, requiring one of the original campaigns to be installed first. Aimed at established gamers, there are no new professions or characters available. New features are provided for established gamers, like the Hall of Monuments where you can save things like Guild Wars skills as well as other character information. This feature is available to provide a link between characters from Guild Wars, and the sequel, Guild Wars 2, which is due in 2008.
