Motorcar Auctions – Can You Purchase Great Motorcars Through The Net?

October 31, 2009

Car auctions are great ways to purchase cars at deep discount. Anything

from older, junk fixer uppers to great newer cars even to expensive luxury models can be found. Whether it’s for personal use or resale, a

lot of people acquire automobiles in this manner. But unless you keep some things in mind the

auction can turn into a nightmare. Click

over here for more information about adesa auto auction.

Some of what can go wrong includes buying a bad car. The car won at

auction might turn out to be a lemon. The rule of the auction jungle is as is. Remember the old Sesame Street skit in which a man

looks over a car with as is in the window As he inspects the car he asks a lot of questions to which

the salesman always responds as is. Once the sale is made and the man

tries to enter the car, it shakes itself apart. He exclaims I want the car as

was! Nobody wants to become that

guy. You will find complimentaryworthwhile information about government car auctions

here.

Car auctions generally

give potential buyers time to look over the cars. If an

auction won’t do that, run. Arrive early. Look around and test drive the cars of interest. Bring a mechanic to provide an expert eye. If that can’t happen then test drive it to a quick

inspection at a garage. Decent inspections take only a few minutes to check the important

elements of the car including the motor, belts, brakes, and the like. Check other elements for damage. This includes the body, upholstery, and

bumpers. You can

obtain heaps of extra worthwhile information relating to insurance auto auction

here.

Another problem is inherent in auctions. People assume that the auction price

will be a great deal, but often it ends up being more expensive than purchasing the item through a

normal sales process. It’s no different at car auctions. Bidding might rise beyond the real value of the car. There are also fees to pay, so pay

close attention. Be

armed with Kelly Blue Book values as well as real sales examples of similar models and years. With Internet enabled

phones and the like it’s now easy to look up this information while on site. Even for the car of your dreams, don’t bid more than its value.

Keep in mind there are deals to be found. But come armed with information and expertise. If a deal appears too good to be true,

it is, even at car auctions.

My crazy thoughts on train horns for trucks

May 7, 2009

Last night I finished a few train horns for trucks. These train horns for trucks were based upon the Nathan AirChime design. I bought the blueprints off the Internet and wielded the horns just like the real train horns. I bought a used compressor from Viair off Ebay and went to Home Depot to buy the fittings. Installation was a breeze because I have a background in car mechanics. My initial problem was an air leak between the valve and compressor. I fixed the leak with some super glue, and double checked all my fittings. I tested the horns and they blew around 145 dBa, which is really loud. When you buy a train horn, you have the option of installing it yourself or paying a professional to perform the job. Train horns for trucks are pretty difficult device to install on your truck, but here are some instructions. You will need to first measure the surrounding area on your truck to make sure the actual train horn can be mounted. After that, you need to mount the compressor and air tank in a safe, cool location. Avoid any area that gets hot because the contents are under pressure it may explode with too much heat. Then connect all the fittings and make sure there are no leaks.

Florida Vacation Competes with the Coke Zero Four Hundred

April 14, 2009

Daytona Beach has a lot going for it but one of the best things to do during the beginning of July is to attend the Coke Zero 400 while looking for the best Florida getaway experience available. You will see the best NASCAR drivers compete with each other on the 31 degree bank track. Being one of the longest running NASCAR events, this race has the privilege of attracting the best of the best in the race to the checkered flag.

Thanks to lights being installed by MUSCO lighting the race could be moved from the morning to the evening to allow for you to spend a great night at the races. With the Florida weather usually providing a good day of heat and rain in the afternoon the races used to be run in the morning. Now both drivers and fans can spend a night at the races.

With the talents of such drivers as Jeff Gordon, John Andretti, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Tony Stewart being among the winners in the past and Kyle Busch winning in 2008 you will be able to see the best of the best compete.

For years it looked like if you wanted to win the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona you would need to be driving either a Ford or a Chevrolet with a combined win record of 28 races. Mercury made a showing with 7 wins and in 2008 Toyota actually came out on top of the list.

Competing against the best drivers and cars created for racing is the thrill for all the drivers that compete in the Coke 400. The track is the same one that holds the NASCAR season opener, the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida every year. The 480 acre motor sports complex is the perfect venue for the 160 lap, 400 mile challenge of the mid-season for NASCAR to provide to the fans and drivers – that if you can get some Coke zero 400 tickets.

There are some rather strict rules about what you can and can’t bring into the races. You can’t bring a cooler filled with beer or soda, you can only have a 6×6x12 soft sided bag (cooler) which will hold a scanner bag, a fanny pack, a purse, a diaper bag, or a binocular bag, etc.

For the most pleasant Central Florida tourism experience – you can bring one clear plastic bag to hold your goodies in but that can only be 18 X 18 X 4 inches, to accommodate samples received and purchases made after fans have parked their cars. If you want to bring along a camera, headsets, camera or binoculars that are not in the ONE bag then you will have to have them on a strap around your neck. Don’t plan on bringing the little ones along in a stroller, strollers are not allowed inside. Neither are umbrellas so if it rains, you get wet.

Nascar Racing And Coke Zero 400 For Your Central Florida Vacations

February 17, 2009

If you are looking for something special to do over the first week in July and you will be in Daytona, Florida you should plan your Florida vacations around the Coke Zero 400 that will be taking place. You will be able to see the top NASCAR drivers complete on one of the best tracks in the world. The track has a 31 degree bank which allows the cars to nearly fly around the track, just like they do in the Daytona 500. This race is one of the longest running races in NASCAR history attracting the best drivers anywhere to compete for the checkered flag.

Most races are run during the daytime and this was no exception for a number of years. The move to nights was made after the track was lighted by MUSCO lighting which allows the fans and the drivers to spend the night at the track rather than starting out early in the morning to avoid the Florida heat and afternoon thunderstorms which Florida is well known for providing.

Great drivers of the past and the current years have shown their skill at the race. There were three years where Jeff Gordon took the checkered flag. Other well known and respected drivers such as John Andretti, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Tony Stewart and the new rising star, Kyle Busch. If you want to see these talented drivers compete against each other, or drivers of equal talent, then you need to come to the Coke zero 400 tickets.

An interesting piece of information is the types of cars that have won the race. The Ford has been the leader with 15 of the historic races under the winning flag. Chevrolet has come in next with an outstanding 13 wins. Mercury has won less than half that many times with 7 wins and Toyota made it to the winners circle in 2008.

This is a grueling race of 400 miles, 160 laps being challenged by the best race cars and drivers in the world. The track is situated on the 480 acre motor sports complex in Central Florida tourism. This is the same track that holds the famous race that starts the NASCAR season, the Daytona 500.

You won’t be able to bring your cooler of beer to the track, the rules are very strict on what you can take in. You can take one soft side bag (cooler) no larger than 6×6x12 inches which isn’t going to hold much. This may be a cooler, scanner bag, fanny pack, purse, diaper bag or binocular bag but you aren’t going to be able to bring in lots of things. Just this and one clear plastic bag, no larger than 18 X 18 X 4 inches, to accommodate samples received and purchases made after fans have parked their cars. If you want your bag and still want your camera, binoculars, headsets and stuff you will need to have them on a strap around your neck…not in an additional bag. You also won’t be able to bring a stroller, umbrella or firearm (course, you wouldn’t want to bring a gun anyway, but those are the rules.) so while making your plans to attend, keep these rules in mind to avoid having to leave something in your car or not getting in to see the race.

how do i start racecar driving professionaly? im going for touring car racing?

November 20, 2008

i dont want nascar or anything other than "touring car racing"
what are the steps i need to take? like driving school..etc?
thanks =)

Firstly, make sure you have enough money for racesuit n helmet, shoes etc, budget about $6000. Ring your local motorsport organisation, like cams etc. They can direct you to the rite person. Try karting first, to get the feel for racing, best way to learn bout car set up and driving. If your too old or too big/tall for that try a state championship. They have different categories for saloon cars, hq holdens, formula Vee, formula Ford and are raced on tracks within the state you live in. You dont need much of a budget to get into that. There are actually alot of people who start in state championships which go to top line or near topline racing. It depends on where you live. I pitcrew in sydney, so i can direct you in syd, but if overseas/interstate, I dont know much over there

I want to get into Car Racing. Is there any suggestions about how I should start?

November 18, 2008

I am sixteen, and know cars off the back of my hand. My dream is to drive and race cars. I wanted to know how to get to the top. I want to know how I should start off and where I could go. Thankyou.

Karting. I raced 125cc gearbox karts, they are fast good for 120mph o-60 in 2.5 sec.

If you want to realy do it it will cost you money, Karting is expensive, My Kart cost me £5000. It can lead to car racing or single seaters but it will cost cost cost. I had a go in a Formula Audi single seater and it cost me a grand just for a days testing and they wanted 60 grand to race for them for a season. I know to lads that are in car racing but they also had the big bank accounts, they were Good to but the was better.

I would say though try gearbox karting minimum age to race is 16 they are fast and it realy teaches you how a single seater would handle, when I Had ago in the formula Audi it was like driving a faster Kart. If you are good and have a bit of money you could make it into cars or single seaters. just dont expect it to happen over night.

Hope I have helped answer your question. google 125cc gearbox karts and see what comes up.

Who believe in that Car Racing is dangerous than soccer sport?

November 4, 2008

But I don't think so that Car racing be dangerous than soccer sport both sport has equal risk you can find same risk in soccer sport for example your hand or leg can break in soccer sport may be you will die in that sport(soccer)suppose if one player crash his head to mast instead of ball then what will happen might be he will die if …..

The only ones that are in the most danger at either of these two sporting events are the soccer fans.
