Aion – The Newest Game From NCSoft
October 11, 2009
Playing a massively multiplayer role playing game can be a little daunting at first with all the action going on, but it is incredibly fun once you get the hang of it. This is perfectly illustrated with NCSoft’s latest MMO, Aion: The Tower of Eternity. This game has been available in Asia for some time, but now is set to release in the western parts of the world, including the U.S., and Europe. Aion: The Tower of Eternity has many exciting features, such as flight and aerial combat, for players who decide to take the new challenge that lies ahead of them.
What is Aion?
The universe of Aion is based around a world called Atreia. The story of Aion: The Tower of Eternity is quite unique and there are many intricacies to understand about the universe and its inhabitants. Atreia was shattered into two halves because of a war between good and evil and the Balaur, who are a terror for all the inhabitants of Atreia, are primarily responsible. The two shattered halves of Atreia are now seperated by The Abyss.
After the world was broken, the people of each half started to evolve in different ways. On one side of the world is the Elyos and the other side is the Asmodians. The emnity between these two races provides much of the conflict within the game. When the two sides discovered each other long after the shattering of Atreia, the inhabitants went to war with each other instantly. In addition, both sides also battle the Balaur as they have been a constant terror to both the Elyos and the Asmodians.
The characters of Aion
As a player in the MMORP game, you’ll be asked to choose among one of four classes: Priest, Scout, Mage, and Warrior. Each of these classes have a unique role to play within Aion. In addition, players are allowed to customize their character class as much as they want as the game gives utmost control over how their character appears.
Fighting and Combat
With all characters being able to fly, one of the most exciting features of the game is aerial combat. The ability to fly had been incredibly important in the character’s lives before Atreia was split apart. However, when the world was shattered it was assumed that the power to fly would be gone forever.
When the two sides of Atreia engage in combat, though, flying will be an incredibly important tool in order to defeat the other side and the evil Balaur characters. This adds an extra level of challenge to the game, as you have to guard against attacks from all directions.
With so much going on in the game you’re sure to be quickly immersed in it’s complexities. Whether you enjoy hoarding kinah or dominating in combat, Aion: The Tower of Eternity brings a lot of exciting action and options for every player.
